The hosts India and the visitors England will face each other at Narendra Modi Stadium (Motera, Ahmedabad) on Thursday (18th March) night during the fourth game of the five-match T20I series.

Currently, the visitors are leading this T20I series by the 2-1 margin. While India won the second match by 7 wickets, England won both the other two games of this series by 8 wickets each.

The hosts India are now under pressure as they must have to win both the remaining matches to win this series as they can’t afford another defeat in this T20I series.

Captain Virat Kohli is currently the leading run-scorer in this series as he has scored 150 runs in three games. Despite scoring a duck in the first game, Kohli scored 73 not out and 77 not out respectively. Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan have also scored one half-century each in this series but the Indian top-order batting is hugely struggling, especially KL Rahul who scored 1,0 and 0 after his return to the professional game since last December.

Limited-overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma was rested in the first two games before scoring 15 runs in the last game. As he is currently in great form, the team management wants good scores from him in the upcoming matches.

Off-spinner Washington Sundar has taken 4 wickets while the leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has got 3 wickets in this T20I series. Lack of wicket-taking moments are also hurting the hosts in this series, and the sloppy fielding is one of the major reasons for this unsuccess.

Full Squad

While the visitors England are leading this series, they need to win another match to secure this series and they will surely try their best to secure this series on Thursday night.

England opener Jason Roy scored 49 and 46 runs respectively in the first two games of this series before scoring 9 runs in the last game. Jos Buttler scored a match-winning 83 not out in the last game, which is also his highest T20I score. After having a bad time during the Test series in this tour, Jonny Bairstow is finally shining with the bat in T20Is by scoring 26*, 20 and 40* respectively in this series.

Fast bowler Mark Wood has highly impressed with the ball as he has got 4 wickets in two matches of this series. Also, Chris Jordan has taken 4 wickets in three matches while Jofra Archer took three wickets in the first game that resulted in his Player of the Match award too before two wicket-less bowling figures.

England have a huge advantage in this series due to leading it by 2-1. As they are playing impressively in this T20I series, they are the favourite for this upcoming match. However, the hosts India can turn the plot if their team game gets the original shape in this crucial moment.
