All the members of the England squad have cleared their Coronavirus tests and the team is likely to start their training together in Chennai on Tuesday. England will be happy to see the Covid test results coming negative as they gear up for the first test against India on February 5. England will be touring India after a gap of 5 years after their 0-4 series loss in the 5 match test series in 2016.

England Squad will be high on confidence after their recent 2-0 series win in Sri Lanka also with their spinners Dominic Bess and Jack Leach coming to the party. Joe Root was the man of the series in Sri Lanka with more than 400 runs in two tests. He is the best player of spin in the England batting lineup and will play a key role if England has to put a strong performance against mighty India at the subcontinent pitches.

England Squad Out Of Quarantine

After getting the Covid results as negative, the members of the England squad are most likely to train on Tuesday. With only three days to go for the first test, the three members who arrived separately last week, Rory Burns, Ben Stokes, and Jofra Archer were under quarantine for 6 days and now they will be joining the team for the first training session on Tuesday afternoon.

“All PCR tests from yesterday’s test have returned negative results. The England party are now out of quarantine and will train for the first time as a full group at the stadium tomorrow afternoon 2pm-5pm (IST),” read an update from the England and Wales Cricket Board spokesperson.

A Big Challenge For England Squad

England squad has performed better than the other touring nations in the overseas conditions which will be a good sign for them going into the series. Jofra Archer will be playing red-ball cricket in India for the first time after making a mark in the IPL with the white ball for the Rajasthan Royals.

Ben Stokes has pulled off some great victories for England single-handedly in recent years and he will be hoping to produce such kinds of performances in these series.

England’s greatest threat will be Ravichandran Ashwin and if they manage to play him well, then the series could be interesting.
