“The issue is not related to any previous injury and it is hoped the treatment will allow the condition to settle down quickly, allowing the player to return to action in time for the third Test in Ahmedabad,” the ECB said in a release in regards to Archer’s injury.

Archer Had A Miserable First Test

Archer had a forgetful debut on the Indian soil as he looked dismal in the first Test at Chennai. His contribution didn’t either come with the bat and with the ball too. He just picked a couple of wickets in the first innings and remained wicketless in the second as a fine spell from James Anderson saw England cruise past India.
