India vs England 2021: Parthiv Patel Feels Rishabh Pant Is The Future Of Indian Cricket

Former Indian wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel has opined that the young sensation Rishabh Pant to be the future of Indian cricket on account of his achievements so far. Rishabh Pant has been in form of his life in the last six months from the Australian tour until the IPL and he is expected to be a star in the making already.

There were no doubts over his potential in the past, but he has been able to convert into performances recently which has been the most impressive part, and looks set for a long Indian career. He has played some career-defining knocks already and is already an important member of the Indian batting lineup in all formats.

Parthiv Patel Credits Rishabh Pant For Working Hard On His Wicket Keeping

Parthiv Patel truly believes that Rishabh Pant is the future of Indian cricket and stated that he particularly liked the fearlessness in the youngster.

He recalled the incidents in 2018 when he travelled with the Indian team as the standby wicket-keeper and how Pant was really motivated to improve on his wicket-keeping despite being the first choice keeper. He credited Pant for keeping really well in turning wickets in the home series against England recently.

“Rishabh Pant is the future of Indian cricket. He is fearless. What I really like about him. When I was a standby wicketkeeper on a tour in 2018 and he was the first choice keeper, his attitude and will to improve his wicketkeeping all the time. He worked really hard on his wicketkeeping. He kept brilliantly on the turning wickets in India-England home series,” Parthiv Patel opined.

Parthiv Patel Heapes Praises On Pant

Parthiv Patel heaped praises on Rishabh Pant taking a lot more responsibility with the bat and playing some match-winning knocks in test cricket at a relatively young age. He added that it is the definition of a cricketer and was happy to admit it.

“He is taking more responsibility while batting. He is playing match-winning knocks in Test cricket. That is something that defines a cricketer,” he added.

Rishabh Pant has recovered from Covid-19 and is set to join the Indian squad again after being in isolation.
