India and England will play the third Test of the four-match series, which is a day/night affair at the New Sardar Patel Stadium in Motera, Ahmedabad. This will be the first international match at the new ground which is built at the site of the old stadium. And President Ramnath Kovind will inaugurate the stadium before the match starts.

Donald Trump, the former president of the United States of America, had inaugurated the Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad in 2020. The venue has previously hosted the knockout stages of the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 trophy and is the largest cricket stadium in the world, surpassing the Melbourne Cricket Ground, with a capacity of 1,10,000 people.

Even England captain Joe Root was left highly impressed with the large new stadium which will see over 50,000 fans screaming and enjoying the first-ever D/N test between India and England.

“It is a phenomenal stadium. I am sure you are going to see some brilliant cricket over the years at this ground. It looks fantastic, hopefully, the wicket can produce some very good cricket. I am sure the atmosphere within (the stadium) will be electric. It is also great to see fans back in the previous game. I am sure with the capacity of this ground that noise will go up and you want to be a part of big games,” Root said on Tuesday.

The Test match begins at 2.30 PM IST.
