England fast bowler Stuart Broad has praised the Indian captain Virat Kohli as one of the best he has ever seen ahead of the upcoming 4 match Test series in India. Broad who was one of the heroes for England in their last ashes is well aware of the uphill task of facing India in their home. The 34-year-old made his test debut in 2007 against Sri Lanka and has gone on to pick 517 Test wickets in 144 tests with the best figures of 8 for 15.

Stuart Broad is one of the toughest bowlers to play at when he gets going and he is really accurate in terms of his line and length. He has got the better of Indian vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane more times than any bowler in Rahane’s career and the battle will between them be great to watch. With the amount of experience he has, Broad can produce a devastating spell from nowhere.

From ‘Being Admirers To Their Enemy’ – Stuart Broad

Stuart Broad knows about the strengths of this India team but he doesn’t want to admit it which could boost India a lot more. He praised how India pulled off a great series win in Australia and expects India to be high on confidence. He admitted that the character shown by the young Indian team was admired by him and his teammates, but told that now they are back to business and have started to see India as their opponents again after reaching Chennai.

“This is not an easy place to tour, and India’s confidence will be sky high from winning at the Gabba to complete a series victory in Australia earlier this month. I can tell you that they had supporters within this England team throughout that decisive match in Brisbane,” Broad wrote in his column.

“The togetherness, the character, spirit and willingness they showed was phenomenal. Any team in the world would have been proud of what India achieved despite being depleted by injuries. They are the World Test Championship leaders for good reason. But we have moved from being admirers to their enemy within a couple of weeks and what we cannot do is build India up in our minds. They are not impregnable,” he added.

England In Great Form After Sri Lanka Series

Stuart Broad told that the England team enters the series in great form after their dominating win in Sri Lanka. He praised Kohli as one of the best he has ever seen, but he wants to focus on themselves and build their strengths. He mentioned England having some of the best players in the world and he added that with the right mindset, they could beat anyone.

“Virat Kohli is one of the best I’ve ever seen but if we go through all their positives we will be defeated before we’ve even begun. We need to build on our own strengths. We are entering the series in great form ourselves.”

“We’ve got batsmen, bowlers and all-rounders in the top 10 of the world rankings. Yes, India are a brilliant side, and it would be one of the most remarkable series victories if we were able to pull it off, but we know if we get our mindset right we can beat anyone,” Broad stated.

Broad will be one of the key bowlers and he has to do well if England has to succeed in India.
