The BCCI selection committee had announced the Indian squad for the upcoming ODI series against England and a few of the decisions have raised eyebrows. Suryakumar Yadav, Prasidh Krishna, and Krunal Pandya have been the new recruits to the Indian squad for the first time while Shubman Gill has retained his spot. Prithvi Shaw and Devdutt Padikkal will be unlucky to miss out despite being in excellent form.
Mohammed Siraj has made a comeback into the ODI squad after a long gap while Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah are not available for the series. Bhuvneshwar will have to lead the Indian attack and he is also returning to the Indian squad after a long injury gap. Here are 3 Players who shouldn’t have been in the Indian ODI squad against England.

3 Players Who Shouldn’t Have Been In The Indian ODI Squad Against England:
Yuzvendra Chahal:
Yuzvendra Chahal was dropped in the fourth T20 and Rahul Chahar did an excellent job in his place for India. Chahal’s recent performances would have certainly not allowed him to get into the ODI squad, but he is an experienced campaigner having played a lot of international games and he must use this opportunity to get back into his rhythm back.
Mohammed Siraj:

Mohammed Siraj’s recent performances in the Test series against England have earned him a recall into the Indian ODI squad which doesn’t look to be ideal right now despite his form. Siraj has always been an expensive bowler in the limited-overs format and he looks more suited for the longest format where his lengths and lines have been accurate and testing for the batsman.
He has played a One day International for India in 2019 where he finished with figures of 0 wickets for 76 runs in his 10 overs spell. He has played three T20 internationals and his economy rate has been nearly 12.33 speaks volumes about his ability in the shorter formats. However, he has replaced Navdeep Saini who has been left out and he will look to improve his Limited overs record if he gets an opportunity in the England series to be back in the reckonings.
Washington Sundar:

Washington Sundar last played an ODI for India three years back in 2017 after his impressive T20 international start but did not get a game after that and was dropped from the ODI squads later. The 21-year-old has been rewarded for his excellent performances in the test format recently in the Australia and England tests which don’t look to be the right way to select players for ODI matches.
Sundar’s T20 record is exceptional and has bowled really well in the first three T20 games but had an off game in the last T20 against England. His lone ODI numbers weren’t that good too and have taken 1 wicket at an economy rate of 6.5 which is not his usual standards. He is more of a defensive bowler rather than a wicket-taking bowler which India hasn’t preferred for the last three to four years and he shouldn’t have been picked.
