The full schedule of the upcoming Women's Asia Cup 2026 has finally been announced on Thursday, August 6. The tournament will bring together the Asian teams, but the biggest excitement is around the much-awaited India vs Pakistan match in the tournament.

The sixth edition of the Women's Asia Cup will be played in the T20 format with eight teams taking part and divided into two groups of four teams each. Sri Lanka will enter the tournament as the defending champions after beating India in the 2024 Women's Asia Cup final. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has confirmed that the Women's Asia Cup 2026 will get underway on August 28 in Dubai with the final scheduled for September 13. The Dubai International Cricket Stadium will stage all the matches of the tournament under lights.

Group A includes India, Pakistan, Thailand, and Hong Kong, while Group B has Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, the UAE, and Indonesia for the upcoming Women's Asia Cup 2026. Amid this, CSA makes big announcement on India Women's South Africa tour ahead of Champions Trophy.

The tournament will begin with the opening match between Thailand and Hong Kong on August 28. India will begin their campaign against Thailand on August 30. After that, they will play Hong Kong on September 3. The biggest match of the group stage will be on September 5, when India will face Pakistan at the Dubai International Stadium in Dubai.

The format of the tournament is simple. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the Women's Asia Cup 2026 semifinals. The winners of the two semifinals will then meet in the Women's Asia Cup 2026 final on September 13 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

India vs Pakistan: Seven-time champions eye record 8th Women's Asia Cup title

The India women’s national cricket team will enter the Women's Asia Cup 2026 as the most successful team in the tournament's history. They already won the Asia Cup seven times and will now be aiming to lift the trophy for the eighth time after finishing as runners-up in the last edition.

On the other hand, Pakistan's women’s national cricket team is still waiting for their first Women's Asia Cup title. They reached the finals in 2012 and 2016, but both times India crushed their title hopes. The recent performances between the two teams also give India a big confidence boost.

The last time they met in the 2026 Women's T20 World Cup, India completely outplayed Pakistan and won the match by 64 runs in the group stage. Both teams have so far played 17 matches against each other in T20I cricket, with India winning 14 while Pakistan managed to win only 3 games.
