India vs UAE Head-to-Head Records- Key Statistics
India will kick off their Asia Cup 2025 campaign with the match against the UAE on Wednesday (September 10). This will be only the second T20I game between the two sides.
Coincidentally, the first match in this format between India and the UAE was played in the Asia Cup as well, which took place in 2016 in Bangladesh.
India, then led by MS Dhoni, won the match comprehensively by nine wickets courtesy of a brilliant performance by the Indian bowling lineup, which restricted the opposition to a score of less than 100 runs, 81 to be precise.
The batters did the rest of the work by chasing the target with nine wickets in hand and 9.5 overs to spare.
The upcoming match is also the first meeting between the two sides at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in any format of the game.
India will hands down start as the favorites to win the match and will put their best foot forward in an attempt to do so.
Having said that, the Suryakumar Yadav-led side would be aware of what the UAE is capable of doing, especially in the T20I format of the game, having beaten New Zealand and Bangladesh in this very form of the game not too long ago.
UAE, on the other hand, will be confident of getting one over India under the leadership of Muhammad Waseem, the team's captain, with him leading from the front.
The reason is the nature of the format, which bridges the gap between a Test and Associate nation as a team needs just one good inning or one good spell to stun the opposition by registering a win against them.
However, India would be confident of not letting that happen with the quality of personnel the defending champions have at their disposal in all three departments of the game.
Another important factor to consider is that although the UAE is the home team, India will also be well versed with the conditions, having played a good amount of cricket in the country.
