India Will Be Under Pressure If Pakistan Reach Semis - Azhar Ali's Shocking Claim
Pakistan still has a chance to qualify for the semi-finals of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. First of all, they need to win their match against England and secondly, they have to expect that Sri Lanka defeats New Zealand. If New Zealand manages to secure a win against Sri Lanka, then by a better NRR New Zealand will have a major probability of qualifying for the semis.
If the Men In Green somehow reaches the semi-finals, then they will face their arch-rivals India, a team that is still undefeated in this World Cup. Pakistan and India have clashed against each other in the 2011 World Cup semi-finals too with the Men In Blue securing the win in that match. However, former Pakistan cricketer Azhar Ali feels that if India and Pakistan face each other in the semi-finals then the pressure will be on India because Pakistan will have nothing to lose.
Azhar Ali is of the opinion that India will be under tremendous pressure if Pakistan faces them in the semi-finals. It is because of the fact that Pakistan was almost out of the World Cup after their defeat against South Africa so this time they will have nothing to lose while India is yet to lose a match and thus will feel enormous pressure to win the match.
He stated, “If Pakistan reach the semis, there will be no pressure on Pakistan and all the pressure will be on India. Pakistan were almost out of this World Cup when they lost to South Africa so they will have nothing to lose against India in Kolkata.”
Pakistan Will Play The Semi-Finals At Eden Gardens Irrespective Of Their Position

Even if Pakistan qualifies for the semi-finals in the fourth position. They will face India on 16th November at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. This is because of some security concerns, as the team will not be playing any match in Mumbai so for them, irrespective of their position, the semi-finals will be played at the Eden Gardens on the 16th of November.
However, a semi-final spot looks far for Pakistan given New Zealand’s form and they are facing Sri Lanka which will be an easy target for the Kiwis. The Men in Green will need a lot of prayers and wishes alongside some really good cricket in order to find themselves in the top 4.
