Mumbai is all set to host the India Women vs England Women T20Is starting with the first T20I on December 6, Wednesday. The matches start from 7 pm IST with Wankhede Stadium hosting all three matches. the T20I matches will be followed by a one-off Test starting from December 14.
India Women does not boast of a good T20I record against their England counterparts. In 27 matches, Indian eves have lost 20 matches and won just seven. England won the last T20I played against India in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 by 11 runs.
India will be led by Harmanpreet Kaur while Heather Knight will lead England Women. England have dominated India in T20Is played in India as well. In 9 T20Is played in India, England women have won seven while India women just two. Thus this is a very good opportunity for the Indian eves to go all out for a clean sweep against the former World Champions.
India Women’s team head coach Amol Muzumdar wants to utilize the series as a preparatory ground for the Women’s T20 World Cup in Bangladesh next year. In his pre-match presser, he spoke about giving particular attention to fielding and fitness in this series.

He further spoke about all the fringe players being tested in the series. The likes of Shaika Ishanque and Shriyanka Patil have earned maiden T20I call-ups. Meanwhile, Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Varma, and Jemimah Rodrigues form the batting core of the side.
Speaking about England, they have called up Sophie Ecclestone for the T20I and the test series. Heather Knight, the veteran skipper will bank on her own experience of playing in India and the WPL to lead the side.

Mumbai hosts the first T20I from 7 pm IST. The venue has been a high-scoring ground both in IPL and international T20Is. Scores of 200 have been set and chased in succession. Given that all the games will be played at this venue, the series can be expected to be a high-scoring contest.
Speaking about weather conditions, it will be clear and warm in the evening with temperatures around 28 degrees. Humidity will be around 70 percent with dew as always playing a key role with winter setting in across the country. There is no chance of rain playing spoilsport.
