India Women's Cricketer Veda Krishnamurthy's Mother Passes Away Due To COVID-19

Indian women’s cricketer Veda Krishnamurthy has suffered a personal loss of enormous magnitude as her mother has pressed away due to COVID-19. Veda Krishnamurthy took to her official Twitter handle and announced the distressing news. The 28-year old’s mother passed away on Saturday due to the deadly virus.

The second wave of COVID-19 has grappled India, recording well over 300000 cases over the last few days along with more than 1000 fatalities as well. Since the beginning of April, the nation has also been experiencing an oxygen cylinder shortage, with several states struggling to supply it for critical patients. Furthermore, the alarming rise in cases has also forced several state governments to impose lockdowns in several areas.

Meanwhile, Veda Krishnamurthy appreciated all the condolence messages through her Twitter handle and requested to pray for her sister. The Karnataka-born batter revealed that she has tested negative for COVID-19 and wants people to respect her privacy. She also has all the thoughts for people going through the same. Krishnamurthy has represented India in 48 ODIs and 74 T20Is and was part of the squad that reached the final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
