India Women's Squads For Bangladesh Series Announced, No Place For Renuka Singh, Richa Ghosh

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced India’s squads for the upcoming white-ball series between India Women’s National Cricket Team and Bangladesh Women’s National Cricket Team.

The India Women’s Tour of Bangladesh 2023 consists of a three-match T20I series and a three-match ODI series. All six matches will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in Mirpur. The T20Is are set to be played from July 9 to July 13 and the ODIs will be played from July 16 to July 22.

Some major names have been missing from India’s squads for the Bangladesh series. Pacer Renuka Singh, wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh, all-rounder Shikha Pandey, all-rounder Radha Yadav and spinner Rajeshwari Gayakwad have all been left out of the squad.

Notably, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not given any clarity on the non-selection of the star players in the squad for the Bangladesh series.

Rashi Kanojiya, Anusha Bareddy, Minnu Mani Get Maiden Call-ups

As many as three players have got maiden call-ups for the series against Bangladesh. The players are Minnu Mani (only T20Is), Anusha Bareddy (Andhra), and Rashi Kanojiya (Uttar Pradesh).

The left-arm pacer Monica Patel and batter Priya Punia have been included back into the side, which will be led by star batter Harmanpreet Kaur and her deputy Smriti Mandhana.

The India Women’s National Cricket Team are without a permanent head coach at the moment. Following the departure of Ramesh Powar, Hrishikesh Kanitkar took charge on an interim basis. Amol Muzumdar, Tushar Arothe, and Jon Lewis are in contention for the role and it is unclear whether the BCCI will officially announce the appointment of the new head coach ahead of the Bangladesh series commences.

India’s ODI squad:
