India Women's Cricket Team Might Be Denied Permission To Train During Quarantine In Australia

Indian women’s cricket team is likely to be denied permission to train outdoors during their hard quarantine in Australia. The team has already departed for their full-fledged tour of Australia starting on September 19.

Unfortunately, the restrictions in the land down under have been increased owing to plenty of cases in the country. The women’s team will have to undergo a strict 14-day hard quarantine after arriving in Brisbane.

Training permission is highly unlikely after the first week in the current scenario. There could be further changes in the itinerary. Hard quarantine will be extremely tough for the players but is what it is,B<!---->C<!---->C<!---->I official revealed.

The squad had gathered for a 15-day conditioning camp in Bangalore following which they departed to Brisbane via Dubai. Even the schedule for the series is tentative at the moment, as confirmed by a source in Cricket Australia.

However, this is also a tentative schedule, which CA has communicated to the BCCI. As per the altered schedule, the Indian team will fly tomorrow (Sunday) evening from Bangalore to Dubai in a chartered flight. From Dubai, the team will fly to Brisbane, where they will quarantine for two weeks before going to Mackay,” the source was quoted as saying.

Queensland government will approve the schedule for the Indian women’s tour

Since all the games will take place in Queensland, the government will approve the schedule that Cricket Australia sets with the help of the BCCI. There were three venues that the matches were supposed to be played in, viz. Sydney, Perth, and Melbourne.

The series begins on 19th September with the ODI series, which will aid the teams in preparing for the 2022 ODI World Cup. Following that, a historic one-off pink-ball Test will be played from September 30 – October 3. The T20I series comprising of three matches will then be played to conclude the tour.

India’s contingent, which departed on Sunday, will arrive in Brisbane on Monday. Whether the series will go ahead as planned is yet to be seen.
