Australian cricketer Usman Khawaja has heaped praises on Indian pacers like Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, and Mohammed Siraj. The 34-year-old Aussie player has called the Indian bowling lineup unbelievable and the best in the world currently. Khawaja’s words arrive after Indian pacers executed a magnificent bowling show to defeat England by 151 runs in the recent Lord’s Test.
With Mohammed Shami’s unexpected half-century in the 2nd innings of India vs England 2nd Test at Lord’s, India set up a target of 272 for England on Day 5. The Joe Root-led side had to bat for about two sessions to evade a loss. However, Indian pacers did not provide any such chance to the hosts, crushing them at just 120 all-out.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Usman Khawaja was filled with words of praises for Indian pacers. He called Jasprit Bumrah one of the best bowlers in the world right now and termed Ishant Sharma as a skilful bowler with a lot of experience.
“In my opinion the Indian bowling lineup right now is the best bowling lineup in the world, yes there are awesome bowlers all around the world, but that lineup is unbelievable. Jasprit Bumrah is one of the best bowlers in the world right now, awkward action, great bouncer, great skills, slow ball.
“He is a genius and jet and bowling like one right now. Ishant Sharma, he’s a skillful bowler, he also bowls a really good length, he’s been there for such a long time that experience is invaluable in these conditions”, Usman Khawaja said.
Usman Khawaja also pointed out that according to him, Mohammed Shami is an underrated bowler.
“Third, I think is the most underrated bowler in the world, in my opinion, Mohammed Shami, he’s actually a lot quicker than you think, I think that’s one of his skill sets and he always has that seam in a beautiful position.
“But no one really talks about him genuine thing he is such a big part of that bowling lineup and people forget about him,” the left-handed batsman further said.
Speaking about Mohammed Siraj, Usman Khawaja revealed that when he played against Siraj three years ago, he felt that Siraj will become a very good Test bowler in the future.
“Lastly, Siraj, he was coping a bit of stick throughout the summer you can tell he’s getting wickets he’s walking by. he is a very skillful bowler too faced him in the A series maybe three years ago in India, he bought an unbelievable spell and when I saw him that I knew he was going to be a very good Test bowler,” said Khawaja, who has so far played 44 Tests and 40 ODIs for Australia.
Mohammed Siraj scalped 8 wickets in the Lord’s Test, picking 4 each in both innings. Ishant Sharma picked 5 wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah scalped 3, all of which came in the 2nd innings. Mohammed Shami picked 3 wickets in the match, in addition to the crucial unbeaten half-century (56*) he shattered in the 2nd innings.
India will now face England in the 3rd Test on August 25, scheduled to be played at Headingly, Leeds.
