The Rohit Sharma-led Indian cricket team is gearing up for their battle in the next round—the Super-8 stage of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024—in the Caribbean Islands after showing the world they are one of the most dangerous teams in the world in the first round of the mega event in the USA.

However, Team India’s final Group A game against the Canada cricket team was washed out due to rain in Florida, but Rohit and his brigade made sure to entertain the Americans along with fans across the world with their breathtaking performance in the first round of the mega ICC event in the USA.

India ready for Super-8 stage in ICC T20 World Cup 2024 after dominating Group A

India had kicked off their T20 World Cup 2024 campaign with a dominating 8-wicket win over Ireland on June 5 in New York and then snatched the match from Pakistan’s grip with their spectacular performance in their second Group A match, winning the blockbuster clash by 6 runs.

And then, the Men in Blue confirmed their qualification to the Super-8 stage of the ongoing mega ICC event by crushing the co-hosts, the USA, by seven wickets in New York. As the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 moves to the West Indies, India will be looking to continue their momentum in the next round of the tournament, which will start on June 19 with the USA facing South Africa in Antigua.

Meanwhile, India’s campaign in the Super-8 stage of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 will begin against another Asian team, Afghanistan, which was on fire in the group stage of the tournament. The Afghanistan cricket team is currently unbeaten, leading the Group C points table with six points from three games, with their final game set to be held on June 18 against the co-hosts, the West Indies.

The table-toppers of Group A, Team India, will face the Rashid Khan-led Afghanistan team in their first Super-8 match on June 20 at the Kensington Oval, Barbados. It will be a mouthwatering clash for cricket fans, with both teams in red-hot form and having a formidable bowling attack.

The actions will shift to Antigua, as the Men in Blue will face the second-ranked team of Group D Bangladesh, another Asian team, in their second Super-8 encounter of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 on June 22 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.

The Bangladesh cricket team won three of their four Group D matches to make it to the next round of the ongoing tournament. Well, India’s final Super-8 game is against the team that has given several heartbreaks to the team and the millions of fans—Australia—on June 24 at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground in Saint Lucia.

It will be a big game for both teams, as only one team will qualify from the Super 8s for the semifinals of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. Team India lost the ICC World Test Championship final and the ODI World Cup 2023 final to Australia last year. Well, the entire nation will be hoping for a different result in the upcoming Super-8 clash in Saint Lucia.
