England Cricket Team has suffered an injury scare ahead of the second Test against India at Lord’s.

According to the BBC, veteran pacer, Stuart Broad tweaked his right calf during the training session on Tuesday.

The portal reported that Broad did not return to the nets for his bowling stint, raising doubts on his availability for the second Test which starts on Thursday.

The England pacer will undergo a scan tomorrow to determine the extent of his injury.

“Nottinghamshire’s Stuart Broad has tweaked his right calf in today’s warm-up at Lord’s,” wrote BBC Nottingham Sport on Twitter.

“He was unable to train this afternoon with the rest of the England squad. Broad will have a scan tomorrow to determine the extent of his injury,” he added.

 

Broad had an indifferent outing in the first Test as he struggled for control and ended up conceding more than 3.5 rpo. He did take a wicket in the second innings when he induced an outside edge off KL Rahul’s bat with an absolute Jaffa.

If he does miss out, then Mark Wood will likely slot into the playing XI for the Lord’s Test, although they also have Craig Overton in the squad.
