After Pakistan’s early exit from the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Inzamam-ul-Haq has launched an attack on India and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). India refused to travel to Pakistan for the ongoing marquee event, and the ICC had no choice but to accept their demand.

Now, the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is underway under the hybrid model, with the Men in Blue playing their matches in Dubai while Pakistan is hosting the rest of the matches. As the tournament is heading into the business end, if the Indian cricket team qualifies for the finals, having already secured a place in the semifinals, then Pakistan will host only one semifinal.

Inzamam-ul-Haq blasts BCCI’s power play, calls for cricket boards to unite against India

BCCI and India’s dominance is all over the world when it comes to their Indian Premier League (IPL) as well. Indian cricketers enjoy the fame, money, and glamour of the IPL, but unlike their international counterparts, they are not allowed to participate in foreign T20 leagues.

The BCCI has a strict policy that doesn’t allow the active Indian players to participate in the overseas franchise leagues. To play in the foreign leagues, Indian stars must retire from all forms of Indian cricket, including the IPL. However, they are allowed to play in county and List A cricket in England.

Launching an attack on BCCI’s policy, former Pakistan captain and former chief selector urged all the cricket boards across the world to unite against India. Inzamam-ul-Haq has slammed BCCI’s firm stance on Indian players’ exclusivity to the IPL. Frustrated by the IPL’s exclusivity, Inzamam has urged other cricket boards to take a stand against the BCCI and their league’s influence.

Other boards should stop sending their players to IPL: Inzamam-ul-Haq

With top players from around the world flocking to the IPL and, for which, they even miss their national duties, the former Pakistan skipper believes that the cricket world must rethink their approach. Inzamam suggested that if Indian players are restricted from playing in overseas leagues, then other nations should consider limiting their players’ participation in the IPL as well.

Inzamam-ul-Haq said on a Pakistani TV channel, “Keep aside the Champions Trophy. Top players participate in IPL, but Indian players don't participate in other leagues. Other boards should stop sending their players to IPL. If you (BCCI) don't release your players for leagues, then other boards should take a stance.”
