The IPL 2021 is gearing up towards the midway of the tournament and the franchises have started to look at the changes they have to make to move up in the standings. There cannot be so much left to be done in the backend of the tournament and the franchises must start stabilizing their team with little changes according to the conditions.
So far, Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore have been very impressive while Sunrisers are struggling to find their usual rhythm lying at the bottom of the table. It will be tough from here on if the teams do not start to make inroads and it is time to look at five international T20 stars who have been a flop in the cash-rich tournament.
IPL 2021: 5 International T20 Stars Who Have Been A Flop:
Hardik Pandya:

The Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has bowled yet for the Mumbai Indians and with his back issues, Zaheer Khan has told Mumbai doesn’t want to risk him. However, he will have to bowl at some point for the Mumbai Indians and he has been doing a pretty good job for India in the T20s.
But, he has struggled with the bat in the Chennai wickets where it is hard to play through the line. He has thrown away his wickets very early and has managed to score just 36 runs in five games which is way below for a number five. It has been an added pressure for Rohit, as he isn’t bowling too and he has one of the flops of the tournament so far. Mumbai will need him to get going as he plays an important part in the middle order.
Yuzvendra Chahal:

Yuzvendra Chahal has continued his poor form from the international circuit into the IPL too and has been the least impressive among the RCB bowlers. The good thing is, despite his poor form, RCB has done really well with the bat and ball, and if he can find his form back, RCB will have a really potent bowling attack.
Chahal had a good season in the 2020 IPL but he has struggled so far, with picking up just 3 wickets in as many as six games. His economy rate has been really expensive and has conceded a lot of sixes.
Chahal is a game-changer with the ball, and it is time that he works on what has gone wrong for him. RCB has persisted with him despite his poor form which shows the confidence Kohli has in Chahal and he must start repaying the faith in this IPL.
Krunal Pandya:

He also struggled in the bowling department too with just 3 wickets in five games. He is usually an economical bowler and fires into the batsmen in the powerplay with no room to free the arms. But he has been very expensive so far and hasn’t had any impact on the team. He will be facing the heat and needs to pull up his socks soon.
Quinton De Kock:

De Kock is a vital cog in the Mumbai Indians set up and he had an excellent season last year which helped Mumbai progress easily. Mumbai has persisted with him at the top despite Chris Lynn giving doing in his absence and he needs to step up for the franchise. He has scored 47 runs in the 4 games he has played and has proved to be a flop so far in the tournament.
Ravichandran Ashwin:

R Ashwin has been at his very best in the 2021 IPL so far and he has also left the tournament to be with his family during the tough pandemic times. Ashwin had an excellent season last year where he picked up a lot of wickets and bowled economical overs too for the Delhi Capitals.
This year has gone very quiet for him and much was expected of him to push a case to be in the reckonings for the T20 world cup.
However, he might return to the tournament if things improve in the country and he will have to improve his numbers definitely with just one wicket in the five games he played. He has also turned out to be a flop so far with the overall record he has in the IPL.
