IPL 2021 auction witnessed some bowlers bagging an expensive contract with IPL teams. Bowlers were in huge demand during the IPL 2021 auction and franchisees shelled out a lot of money to induct their favourite choice of bowlers in their squad. These expensive bowlers will have a lot of responsibility for their teams in IPL. Teams will play their expensive bowlers in all the matches so as to gain maximum benefit in the bowling department.

There are 8 teams that are part of IPL 2021. One team plays 14 matches during the group stage where it faces every opposition team twice. One bowler is allowed to bowl a maximum of 4 overs in a match. Therefore, considering that every expensive bowler plays all 14 games and bowls 4 overs in every game for his respective team, he will bowl a total of 56 overs or 336 deliveries during the group stage of IPL 2021.

Riley Meredith holds the 5th spot in this list. The Australian pacer was bought by Punjab Kings during the 2021 IPL auction for Rs. 8 crores. Meredith will play his first IPL tournament in 2021 IPL. Punjab Kings bought him after his good performance in Big Bash League 2020-21. With Rs. 8 crore IPL contract, Meredith’s cost-per-ball will be Rs. 2.38. This makes him the 5th costliest bowler in 2021 IPL on the basis of cost-per-ball.

4. Krishnappa Gowtham- Rs. 2.75 lakh

Chennai Super Kings bought Krishnappa Gowtham for Rs. 9.25 crore during IPL 2021 auction. He was Chennai Super Kings’ costliest buy in the 2021 IPL auction. At this price, Krishnappa Gowtham has a cost-per-ball of Rs. 2.75 lakh. This puts the Indian all-rounder on the 4th spot in this list.

Krishnappa Gowtham was released by Kings XI Punjab ahead of the 2021 IPL auction. He played for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2018 and IPL 2019 and Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2020. In 24 IPL games, Gowtham has scored 186 runs and scalped 13 wickets.

Punjab Kings bought Jhye Richardson for Rs. 16 crores during the 2021 IPL auction. At this massive price, Richardson’s cost-per-ball in IPL 2021 comes to Rs. 4.16 lakh. He is the 3rd bowler in this list of most expensive bowlers in 2021 IPL according to cost-per-ball.

Jhye Richardson will play his first IPL tournament in 2021 IPL. The Australian pacer was the highest wicket-taker in Big Bash League 2020-21. Along with Riley Meredith, Richardson will be expected to handle the bowling department for Punjab Kings in IPL 2021.

Royal Challengers Bangalore bought Kyle Jamieson for a whopping Rs. 15 crores during IPL 2021 auction. He was the second costliest player in the 2021 IPL auction. At this huge price, the New Zealand pacer’s cost-per-ball comes to Rs. 4.46 lakh in 2021 IPL. This gives him the 2nd spot on this list. Kyle Jamieson will play his first IPL tournament in 2021 IPL. The 26-year-old cricketer is a right-arm fast-medium bowler.

Chris Morris is the costliest player according to cost-per-ball in IPL 2021. The South African pacer was bought by Rajasthan Royals for Rs. 16.25 crore during IPL 2021 auction. At this huge price, Morris became the costliest player ever in the history of Indian Premier League auctions. The right-arm pacer Morris will have a cost-per-ball of Rs. 4.83 lakh in IPL 2021.

He was released by Royal Challengers Bangalore ahead of IPL 2021 auction. Morris has played 70 matches in IPL so far and grabbed 80 wickets.
