Glenn Maxwell Told Me He Doesn’t Want To Run Very Much: AB de Villiers

While speaking to teammate Yuzvendra Chahal after the match, AB de Villiers revealed that Maxwell was angry with him for making him run a lot.

“So, when I came in, I realised Maxi (Glenn Maxwell) was very tired. He told me he doesn’t want to run very much. I started with two runs and three, so he was very angry with me,” AB de Villiers told Chahal.

Talking about sharing the crease with Glenn Maxwell, de Villiers said that he enjoyed playing with him. Villiers also mentioned that he and Maxwell are similar players with lots of energy.

“To be honest, we just enjoyed playing with each other. We are similar players, with lots of energy. We love having an impact on the game for the team. When I came into bat, the talk was just to get a base together, get a partnership going. He told me the wicket was not as bad, maybe 20 up from the last few games. So, I knew if we got a partnership going somewhere, we would sense some weakness,” AB de Villiers added.

Defending 204, RCB bowlers did a great job by not allowing any KKR batsman to score big. Kyle Jamieson took 3 wickets, Yuzvendra Chahal and Harshal Patel picked 2 wickets each, and Washington Sundar grabbed 1 wicket to restrict Kolkata Knight Riders to 166-8 in the 2nd innings. Mohammed Siraj also bowled with a great economy while being wicket-less, conceding 17 runs in 3 overs.
