Andre Russell responded to KKR’s co-owner Shah Rukh Khan’s tweet in which the latter apologised to fans for the team’s poor performance against Mumbai Indians (MI) in IPL 2021 encounter. After Kolkata Knight Riders lost to Mumbai Indians by 10 runs even after dominating the match for most of the time, the Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan posted a tweet to seek apologies from the fans.
“Disappointing performance. to say the least @KKRiders apologies to all the fans!”, Shah Rukh wrote on Twitter just after KKR’s defeat.

I Support SRK’s Tweet: Andre Russell
During the post-match presentation, Russell mentioned that he supports the tweet from Shah Rukh Khan but this team is going to learn from the match and they are still confident in the tournament.
“Yeah, I support that Tweet [from SRK] but at the end of the day the game of cricket… you are not sure until it’s over. I think we are still confident, we still played some good cricket and I am proud of the boys. You know, we are definitely disappointed but it’s not the end of the world, it’s only the second game and we are going to learn from it,” Andre Russell said.
The West Indies cricketer also said he has trust and confidence in the team that they will perform better in the future.
“We will look to make sure that who’s in, stays in and once we learn from all these mistakes that happened tonight we will definitely do better because we have a good team. I have trust and confidence in the boys,” Andre Russell added.

For the 153-run target, Nitish Rana (57) and Shubman Gill (33) gave a great start to the KKR. However, Rahul Chahar dismissed the top four KKR batsmen to send them on backfoot. Andre Russell arrived on the field in the 16th over, when KKR needed 31 runs off 28 balls.
However, he scored 9 runs off 15 balls before losing his wicket to Trent Boult in the final over. Mumbai Indians won the match by 10 runs to showcase a great turnaround in the match. Earlier, Andre Russell took 5 wickets in his 2 overs to give a blow to Mumbai Indians.
