IPL 2021 will be the 14th season of the Indian Premier League. Along with the players and team management, every franchise owner also plays very crucial roles in their team’s growth. Here we are talking about three IPL franchise owners who don’t interfere in their team decisions.

Two-time IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are one of the most popular teams in the IPL history. KKR are famous even outside India, moreover outside Asia, as they are the franchise owner of Caribbean Premier League (CPL) team Trinbago Knight Riders. They have also invested in the upcoming American T20 league Major League Cricket (MLC), which has the plan to begin in 2022.

Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan is one of the co-owner of KKR. His global popularity was one of the biggest reasons why KKR are so famous even outside India.

During the early period of the IPL, Shah Rukh Khan was involved in some big controversies. In that early period, he was also alleged for interfering in the team’s decisions. However, later, some of the KKR members, including former two-time IPL winning KKR captain Gautam Gambhir, have confirmed that the famous Bollywood actor doesn’t interfere in any team’s decisions.

The three-time IPL champions Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are one of the popular teams in the IPL history, majorly due to utilising many star international cricketers, currently as Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers.

Initially, Vijay Mallya-owned United Spirits won the bid for RCB for a whopping USD $111.6 million in 2008, which was then the second-highest bid for an IPL team, just after the Reliance Industries-owned Mumbai Indians (USD $111.9 million). Later, the British beverage company Diageo Group company take the charge of ownership of United Spirits as they are now the RCB owners.

The new franchise owners have never reported interfering in there any kind of team decisions.

The 2016 IPL champions SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) are now one of the consistent teams in the IPL, who have qualified in all the last five IPL playoffs.

After the termination of Deccan Chargers before the IPL 2013, Sun TV Network won the bid for Hyderabad franchise and named the team as Sunrisers Hyderabad, which is now known as SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH). Kalanithi Maran owns Sun TV Network.

The SRH owners are enthusiastic cricket fans as their family members mostly present on the ground during their team’s matches. However, they have never been reported to interfere in their team’s decisions as the team management takes full responsibilities in this part.
