IPL 2021 Auction: 3 Teams Which Can Cause A Bidding War For Ben Dwarshuis

IPL 2021 Auction: 3 Teams Which Can Cause A Bidding War For Ben Dwarshuis

In the upcoming IPL 2021 auction, the franchises can target for the 26-year-old uncapped Australian left-arm pacer Ben Dwarshuis, who has impressed in the recent Big Bash League 2020/21.

Ben Dwarshuis is the best left-arm bowler in the ongoing Big Bash League season. Serving for the defending champions Sydney Sixers, Dwarshuis has picked up 21 wickets in 12 matches (average 17.42; economy rate 8.81; strike-rate 11.8). In this BBL season, he has also managed one four-wicket haul (4/14).

Moreover, as a left-handed lower-order batsman, Dwarshuis can make very crucial contribution for his team.

However, Ben Dwarshuis is not a new face among the IPL franchises. In the IPL 2018 auction, Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab fought for him and ultimately Punjab franchise won that battle by putting the bid of INR 1.40 crore. Though Dwarshuis didn’t play a match in that season, and later he was released from the squad ahead of the IPL 2019 auction, he can be an important name in the forthcoming IPL 2021 auction.

In the IPL 2018 auction, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) put the strong bid for Ben Dwarshuis and ultimately bought him from that auction. But the left-arm pacer didn’t play a match in that season and KXIP released him before the next auction.

While KXIP is familiar with Dwarshuis and they have only young Arshdeep Singh as the left-arm pacer, the Punjab-franchise can again put a strong bid for this Australian cricketer. Also, KXIP have five available slots for the overseas cricketers and they require some good pacers.
