The 24-year-old right-arm pacer Jhye Richardson has hugely impressed in the Big Bash League 2020/21. In the IPL 2021 auction, he can get huge demand.

Australian youngster Jhye Richardson has already impressed in his early international career. He was also an initial member of the Australian 15-member squad for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. But he was ultimately completely ruled out of that tournament due to a dislocated shoulder.

But Jhye Richardson has maintained his impressive bowling since his recovering from the injury and he is one of the most consistent pacer in the BBL 2020/21. Serving for Perth Scorchers, Richardson has taken 27 wickets in 15 matches, including two four-wicket hauls. In this BBL season, he ended 11 consecutive matches with at least one wicket.

In the IPL 2021 auction, the franchises with lesser fast bowlers can make stronger bid for Jhye Richardson, if the Australian pacer becomes available for this auction.

Well Rajasthan Royals already have some good overseas fast bowlers – English right-arm fast bowler Jofra Archer and Australian fast bowler Andrew Tye along with the pace-bowling all-rounder Ben Stokes. But while they need more fast bowlers for the back-up option, they can add at least one more overseas fast bowler as they have three available slots for the overseas cricketers.

Jhye Richardson can be a strong option for Rajasthan Royals. Richardson’s presence can help them massively, when the top English players will unavailable due to fitness issues or international commitment.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)

Recently, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have released many cricketers, including some quick bowlers, to restructure their squad. While they have still 11 slots available, they can add maximum three overseas players in this available slots.

While RCB have only three pacers, including Australian pacer Kane Richardson, they have just traded in Australian pace-bowling all-rounder Daniel Sams and Indian pace-bowling all-rounder Harshal Patel. However, they surely need to add more pacers for the strong back-up option. So, Jhye Richardson can be their next choice for the overseas fast bowling option.

While Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) have no all-rounders, they have only one overseas pacer as English cricketer Chris Jordan. KXIP still can add 5 overseas cricketers during the IPL 2021 auction. While only Mohammed Shami and Chris Jordan are their experienced international fast bowlers along with three young Indian pacers, they will like to add at least one more overseas fast bowler.

As Jhye Richardson has shown good form in the latest BBL season and he has some early experiences in the international cricket, KXIP can put some strong bid for him during the IPL 2021 auction.
