IPL 2021: Delhi Capitals Have A Strong Side; Performing Very Well As A Team This Season, Says Shikhar Dhawan

Delhi Capitals’ opener Shikhar Dhawan has said that his team is performing very well as a team in IPL 2021 and has a strong side. Dhawan words came ahead of Delhi Capitals’ upcoming match against Punjab Kings. Delhi Capitals have shown a magnificent performance in IPL 2021 so far. The Rishabh Pant-led side has won 5 matches out of 7. They are also placed on the 2nd spot in IPL 2021 points table after Chennai Super Kings.

Shikhar Dhawan has done a marvellous job as an opener for Delhi Capitals so far. The left-handed batsman Dhawan has scored 311 runs in 7 matches at an average of 44.43. He is also the third-highest run-scorer in IPL 2021 so far. Dhawan has also smashed 2 half-centuries that include the highest score of 92 runs.

Delhi Capitals Performing Very Well As A Team: Shikhar Dhawan

In an official press release of Delhi Capitals, Dhawan stated that Delhi Capitals is performing very well this season and are in a very good position at the moment.

“We are performing very well as a team this season. We have won five out of seven matches, so we are in a pretty good position at the moment. The good thing is that the entire team is doing well, and we are not depending on any one individual.

‘There has always been someone who has taken the responsibility to win matches for us. We have a strong side, and I am glad that we are in this position at the moment,” Shikhar Dhawan said.

Talking about Delhi Capitals’ upcoming clash against Punjab Kings, Dhawan said that they look forward to beating them and win another match in the tournament.

“The Punjab Kings are a good side. We cannot take any team in the IPL lightly. We have to make sure that we give our best and implement our plans properly every time we step on the field.

They are playing well at the moment and we respect that but, at the same time, we are looking forward to beating them and win another match in our campaign,” Shikhar Dhawan further said.

Delhi Capitals will take on KL Rahul-led Punjab Kings on May 2 (Sunday). The match will be played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Punjab Kings have won 3 matches out of 7 so far and hold 5th spot in IPL 2021 points table. Earlier, Delhi Capitals defeated Punjab Kings by 6 wickets in their first encounter.

Notably, KL Rahul is the leading run-scorer in IPL 2021 so far with 331 runs in 7 innings.
