New Zealand all-rounder James Neesham has expressed his delight in joining the Mumbai Indians(MI) squad after being picked up for his base price of 50 lakh in the 2021 IPL auction. James Neesham played for the Kings XI Punjab in last year’s season’s IPL but managed only 19 runs in 5 games and picked up a couple of wickets at an economy rate of more than 9.5 which wasn’t enough for his franchise to retain him.

James Neesham made his debut in IPL 2014 for the Delhi Daredevils where he played just 4 games, scored 42 runs, and picked up a solitary wicket. Mumbai Indians have gone for the left-hander as the backup option for Kieron Pollard if he suffers any injury. The 30-year-old has played for Newzealand in 12 tests, 63 ODIs, and 24 T20is with two hundred overall in his international career.
