After suffering an easy defeat against Delhi Capitals in their first game of the IPL 2021, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) beat Punjab Kings (PBKS) in a thrashing way.

While Suresh Raina scored 54 runs in the first game, Moeen Ali is their leading run-scorer in the IPL 2021 with 82 runs in two games as he scored 36 and 46 runs respectively. CSK chased a small target of 107 runs in their second game, where Faf du Plessis (36 not out) safely guided the team to the victory after Moeen Ali’s impressive batting. And not to forget, Sam Curran’s crucial 34 off 15 balls in their season opener.

All eyes will be now on the opener Ruturaj Gaikwad, top middle-order batsman Ambati Rayudu and skipper MS Dhoni, whose good form can make the CSK team super stronger.

While CSK bowlers disappointed in their season opener, they were the main reason for CSK’s first victory in this IPL 2021. Pacer Deepak Chahar provided the best possible start for the team against PBKS as his incredible bowling figures of 4-1-13-4 were enough for the team to take full control of that match. The other bowlers were also discipline despite not taking more than one wicket by the other CSK bowlers.

Despite the great fight from captain Sanju Samson, Rajasthan Royals (RR) just failed to beat Punjab Kings (PBKS) in their first game of this IPL 2021, which was a high-scoring match. But in their next match against Delhi Capitals, which was a low-scoring contest, Rajasthan Royals just managed to claim their first victory of this season.

Captain Sanju Samson was the lone fighter with the bat in their first game who scored 119 runs off 63 balls in their losing match. But in their second game, Samson scored just 4 runs.

South African cricketer David Miller, who scored two consecutive half-centuries in the home ODI series against Pakistan just before landing in India for the IPL, has started the IPL 2021 journey with the knock of 62 runs and that too when Rajasthan Royals were losing wickets at regular intervals. Later, the most expensive cricketer in IPL Auction history, South African cricketer Chris Morris scored 36 not out off 18 balls (4 sixes) and it helped them to ultimately secure their first win of this season.

While Rajasthan Royals bowlers struggled in their first game of this season, Chetan Sakariya took three wickets (3/31) and Chris Morris got two wickets (2/41).

In their next game, while Sakariya didn’t get a wicket, Jaydev Unadkat provided a strong start for them and finished with bowling figures of 4-0-15-3. Bangladesh left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman (2/29) also got two wickets while Morris picked up one wicket (1/27).
