The three-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are ready to begin their journey in the IPL 2021 this Saturday (10th April) night when they will face Delhi Capitals (DC) at Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai).
IPL 2020 was the worst season for the CSK as it was the first time when they failed to finish among the top fours as they finished in the seventh position in the points table. However, the most interesting fact is that they have always played the IPL finals when India hosted a complete IPL season (CSK were suspended in the IPL 2016 and 2017). So, they will try their best to keep this incredible record in the IPL 2021 too.
IPL 2021, Match 2: Chennai Super Kings vs Delhi Capitals (CSK vs DC) ??? CSK Predicted XI
Ruturaj Gaikwad
In the late moment of the IPL 2020, Ruturaj Gaikwad highly impressed as he scored 204 runs in six matches, including scoring fifties in the last three games. He was also useful in the recent domestic cricket, where he also hit a century in a List A match.
Faf du Plessis
South African cricketer Faf du Plessis was the leading run-scorer for CSK in the IPL 2020 as he scored 449 runs in 13 matches with the help of four fifties. The Yellow Army once again want a good start from him. Moreover, his incredible fielding ability, especially in the boundary line, is another big advantage for the team.
Ambati Rayudu
Ambati Rayudu was the second-highest run-scorer for CSK in the IPL 2020 as he scored 359 runs in 11 innings, while he hit only one half-century. He scored a lot of 30s and 40s in that tournament. Later, in the domestic T20 tournament, Rayudu played a couple of crucial knocks.
Suresh Raina
CSK hugely missed Suresh Raina in the last IPL season, who is the second most run-scorer in the IPL history. So, it is great news that he has joined the side for the IPL 2021. Last January, Raina made his comeback in professional cricket after the IPL 2019 final, where he was obviously not consistent enough but played two good knocks.
MS Dhoni (C/wk)
Former World T20 and World Cup-winning Indian captain MS Dhoni is ready to continue his leadership for CSK in the IPL 2021. The last year wasn’t good enough for his team while he also struggled with the bat. But many believe that Dhoni will show his actual class in this IPL season.
Ravindra Jadeja
Ravindra Jadeja is now a very important name for any side as his presence always brings crucial deepness into the team in every aspect, batting-bowling-fielding. Jadeja has just recovered from the injury but the experienced all-rounder knows very well how to make a strong comeback.
Dwayne Bravo
Caribbean all-rounder and record wicket-taker in T20 history Dwayne Bravo missed many games in the IPL 2020 due to his groin injury. In recent times, Bravo hasn’t much impressed with his batting but he is developing his form as a right-arm medium pacer. CSK expect some strong support from Bravo in the IPL 2021.
Sam Curran
While many CSK players struggled in the IPL 2020, the England cricketer Sam Curran impressed with his all-round performances for the team as he scored 186 runs and also took 13 wickets in 14 games in the IPL 2020. He was the most wicket-taker for CSK in that season. Recently, in the ODI series-decider against the hosts India, Sam’s stunning 95 not out almost snatched away a miracle victory.
Deepak Chahar
The right-arm pacer Deepak Chahar was CSK’s second most wicket-taker in the IPL 2020 as he got 12 wickets in 14 matches. In the recent matches, he wasn’t consistent enough which also took away his other chances.
Shardul Thakur
In the last IPL season, Shardul Thakur bagged 10 wickets in nine matches. He is currently in brilliant form with the ball in hand. Though his recent bowling figures were a little bit expensive, those were not a big problem for his team as his bowling mostly provided breakthroughs at the crucial moments of the matches.
Imran Tahir
In the last season, the experienced South African leg-spinner Imran Tahir played only three matches and took only one wicket despite winning the Purple Cap in the IPL 2019. But he is expected to play an important role for CSK in the IPL 2021.
