Mumbai Indians’ new pace recruit Yudhvir Charak explained that he had tears when former Indian fast bowler Zaheer Khan had bid for him in the 2021 IPL Auction. Yudhvir Charak was a net bowler for the Mumbai Indians in the last IPL and he was picked up for his base price of Rs.20 Lakh in the IPL 2021 Auction. It was a dream come true moment for the youngster who has fought hard to come up through the ranks.

Yudhvir Charak recently played for the Hyderabad team in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and he hails from the state of Jammu and Kashmir. He will get to learn a lot from the seniors in the team and a franchise that has won five IPL titles. He is yet to make his IPL debut because of the strong playing XI that Mumbai has got and he will have to wait for his opportunity.

“Tears Started Flowing Down My Cheeks” – Yudhvir Charak

Yudhvir Charak was hopeful of getting picked up and he did watch the auction very closely with his family in the television. He told that he had tears when Zaheer Khan had bid for him in the auction and his emotions in the form of tears could not stop flowing down. He called it an unbelievable moment and added that his state team backed him to play a match.

“I knew that if my name came up, it would be among the last names. If not, I was okay with it. We all were sitting; me, my family, our eyes fixed on the television. Then, when my name came up and when Zak sir (Zaheer Khan) raised the paddle, tears started flowing down my cheeks.” Charak said.

“I can’t express how unbelievable that feeling was. It (MI selection) was a really big deal for me and for my state (Jammu and Kashmir). They (J&K team-mates) had very high hopes that I will play a match and do well take our state to new heights,” he further added.

Yudhvir Charak understood the importance of the moment and the experience he will gain from the seniors. He told his desire to do well for the team as Mumbai has picked him for a certain role. He was happy to be part of the most successful franchise from which he can learn a lot and build his career.

“This is the start of my career at a high level. I’ll get to learn a lot from the senior players. They would have selected me with some role in mind. So, I want to do the best for my team. And learn as best as I can. They are the five-time IPL champions.”

Zaheer Khan was happy to have the youngster in the squad and was very certain about helping him grow. Mumbai Indians have opened their account with a loss and a win in the 2 games played so far in IPL 2021.
