Ravindra Jadeja made the joint record of scoring the most runs in a single over after he hit 37 runs off Harshal Patel’s final over against Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2021. Chennai Super Kings opener Faf du Plessis has said that Jadeja’s batting in the final over was a huge momentum shift for the team. Plessis feels that Jadeja’s knock made the target a bit too much for opposition Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Ravindra Jadeja smashed 5 sixes in the final over of Harshal Patel which also had one no-ball. Till 19th over, Chennai Super Kings were 154-4 but Jadeja’s took the scoreboard to 191-4 after the end of the final over.

Later, Royal Challengers Bangalore started well but lost wickets quickly to end at 122-9 in 20 overs. Jadeja also took 3 wickets and one run-out in the 2nd innings to showcase a magnificent all-round performance in the match.

It Was A Huge Momentum Shift For Us: Faf Du Plessis

After the match, former South African cricketer Faf du Plessis said that Jadeja also hit a lot of sixes during practice sessions.

“It was very good. Obviously, Jadeja has been playing really well this season, I think his batting has improved a lot. And there is no fluke, what happened in that last over. Jadeja hits a lot of sixes in his practice session,” Faf du Plessis told the press.

Faf du Plessis also said that Jadeja’s batting in the final over was a huge momentum shift for CSK.

“So, obviously for us, that was a huge momentum shift. Till that point, it was pretty much a par-score around 160-165 and the great innings towards the end made a total probably a little bit too much on a slower wicket,” Faf du Plessis added.
