IPL 2021: RCB's Interim Head Coach Mike Hesson Pleased With Addition Of New Players
The newly-appointed head coach of RCB, Mike Hesson, claimed that the signing of Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga and Dushmantha Chameera, and Singaporean-Australian, Tim David, has come at the perfect time for the franchise. The second leg of the IPL 2021 will resume in the UAE from September 19.
On August 21, Saturday, RCB announced the arrival of Hasaranga, Chameera, and David as replacements for Adam Zampa, Finn Allen, and Daniel Sams respectively. Their addition will boost the side which dearly lacked in batting firepower as seen in the first phase of the league.
Speaking about their inclusion, interim head coach Hesson was excited about the latest signings and hoped that they can continue performing to the best of their capabilities.
“We have made some changes to the squad pertaining to the situation. We have come a long way and have shown steady progress as a team.”
“The addition of Wanindu Hasaranga, Tim David, and Dushmantha Chameera couldn’t have come at a better time in the replacement window, as we aim to continue with the momentum, building on our performance from earlier this year,” Hesson wrote on his official Twitter account.

Earlier, it was announced that Simon Katich would step down from his post as RCB’s head coach. He couldn’t continue citing personal reasons and the director of cricket operations at RCB, Mike Hesson would take over till the end of the season.
Hesson was instrumental as head coach during New Zealand’s rise to the top of world cricket. Taking to social media, he expressed his excitement and hoped to continue from where Katich left off.

RCB’s first match post resumption is against a struggling Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team on September 20.
