Five-time IPL-winning captain Rohit Sharma had added another feather to his already illustrious cap as he leapfrogged the legendary MS Dhoni to become the Indian batsmen with the most number of sixes in the cash-rich league’s history.

Sharma achieved the feat during his knock of 25-ball 32 in which he stroked a couple of sixes, first against Mujeeb-Ur-Rahman and the Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Rohit has featured in 203 IPL games in which he has stroked as many as 217 sixes. MS Dhoni has 216 sixes against his name followed by Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli (201), Suresh Raina (198), and Robin Uthappa (163).

As far as the overall list is concerned, ‘Universe Boss’ leads the way by a long margin. Last week, Chris Gayle became the first batsmen to smash as many 350 sixes in the history of the IPL.

Gayle (351) is followed by ‘Mr 360’ and the heartbeat of the Royal Challengers Bangalore outfit, AB de Villiers, who has smashed 237 sixes in just 171 outings.

Coming back to the ongoing game between Mumbai Indians and SunRisers Hyderabad, Rohit Sharma was looking in ominous touch today.

The ‘Hitman’ took a liking to the midwicket region as he unleashed his much-vaunted pull-stroke on a regular basis. It eventually proved to be his undoing as he holed out at deep midwicket while trying to hit Vijay Shankar for another boundary.
