IPL 2021: There’s A Lot Of Confidence In Kolkata Knight Riders, Says Mentor David Hussey After KKR’s Four Consecutive Defeats

Kolkata Knight Riders are suffering a losing streak in IPL 2021 but their mentor David Hussey has a lot of trust in the team. Even after Kolkata Knight Riders’ four consecutive defeats in IPL 2021, David Hussey believes that the Eoin Morgan-led side still has a lot of confidence in them. After their victory in the opening game, Kolkata Knight Riders have lost four matches in a row.

Kolkata Knight Riders won their opening game against Sunrisers Hyderabad by 10 runs. They lost their 2nd game to Mumbai Indians by 10 runs after failing to chase a low target of 153. KKR again lost to Royal Challengers Bangalore by 58 runs, while chasing a mammoth target of 205.

In their encounter against Chennai Super Kings, KKR showed a much better performance but still remained short of victory by 18 runs. In their previous match against Rajasthan Royals, KKR lost by 6 wickets following a poor batting show in the game.

There’s A Lot Of Confidence In KKR: David Hussey

While speaking to the press, KKR’s chief mentor David Hussey said that KKR has high morale in the dressing room and there’s a lot of confidence in the team.

“Dressing room is always one of the highest morale levels. There’s a lot of confidence in the team. It’s just that they have to go and deliver on the cricket field. All the boys have each other’s back, and they trust each other,” David Hussey said.  

David Hussey also mentioned that KKR can turn things around with few victories during the end of the tournament.

“We just need to tinker with a few issues on the field. And once we do that, we will get a good run. When you win a few games at the back end of the series, we are in with a chance,” David Hussey further said.

Poor batting has been one of the biggest reasons for the Kolkata Knight Riders’ losing streak in IPL 2021. Kolkata Knight Riders have continuously failed to build partnerships on crucial stages. With 4 defeats in 5 games so far, Kolkata Knight Riders have slipped to the bottom spot in IPL 2021 points table. They will next face KL Rahul-led Punjab Kings on April 26 (Monday).
