Yuzvendra Chahal’s alarming revelation of being dangling from a balcony by an intoxicated teammate has elicited a response from former Team India head coach Ravi Shastri.
Chahal shocked everyone when he revealed that a drunk Mumbai Indians teammate hung him from a balcony in 2013 and that other players had to intervene to get the situation under control.
Chahal told his Rajasthan Royals teammates Ravichandran Ashwin and Karun Nair about an unpleasant event that occurred during his time with the Mumbai Indians in 2013.
“I was with the Mumbai Indians in 2013.” In Bengaluru, we had a match. Following that, there was a get-together. I’m not going to mention the extremely inebriated player. He was quite inebriated; he was staring at me and simply calling my name. In a video shared by Rajasthan Royals, Chahal informed Ashwin and Nair, “He dragged me outside and dangled me from the balcony.”
“My arms were wrapped around him. I was on the 15th floor if I had lost my grasp. Suddenly, a large number of people who were present arrived and brought the situation under control. I almost passed out.”
“They offered me water, and it made me realize how responsible you should be whenever you go out. So, this was one event in which I thought I narrowly escaped with my life. I would have fallen if there had been even the tiniest mistake “Added he.
The incident is “not funny at all”: Ravi Shastri
Former India head coach Ravi Shastri has also expressed his displeasure with the event, calling it “not humorous at all.”
He also stated that if the player involved in the incident was not in a “cognizant state of mind,” it would be “a major concern.” According to Shastri, the criminal should be sentenced to life in Ban.
“It’s not a funny situation at all. I’m not sure who the individual involved is, but he wasn’t thinking clearly. If that’s the case, it’s a major concern. Someone’s life is in jeopardy; some may find it amusing, but it is not amusing to me.”
“It demonstrates that the person attempting to do so is in an inappropriate state. When you’re in a situation like that, the odds of making a mistake are significantly higher. It is in no way acceptable “On ESPNcricinfo’s ‘T20 Time Out,’ Ravi Shastri said.
Former India batsman Virender Sehwag also took to Twitter, pleading with Chahal to name the player because the event is really serious. The cricket community was stunned by the news, with many demanding Chahal name the player.
