IPL 2024 Auction: I’m Huge Fan Of David Miller... - Shahrukh Khan After Joining GT

Shahrukh Khan expressed his delight after getting picked by Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction. He opened up about his excitement to play alongside his ‘hero’ David Miller and said that he’s a big fan of the South African player.

As expected Shahrukh Khan was among one of the topics in the IPL 2024 auction. He was brought by Gujarat Titans for INR 7.40 and will be playing under the leadership of young Shubman Gill in the tournament next year with Narendra Modi Ahmedabad stadium being his home ground.

Shahrukh Khan sparked a bidding war between his old franchise Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans. But thanks to the big purse, GT acquired his services. His presence makes the runners-ups of last year even stronger as they will now have the likes of Rahul Tewatia, and David Miller along with him as finishers.

Shahrukh Khan played for the Punjab Kings in the last two years and played a pivotal role for the team. His ability to strike the ball cleanly sets him apart from others and along with that, he can roll his arm as well, which makes a vital cog in the wheel for any team.

Shahrukh Khan will be joining hands with David Miller as a finisher in GT and it’s fair to say that their combination can change the game for the team in no time. The hard-hitting batter will have a baggage of expectations going into the league which might bring the best out of him.

Shahrukh Khan said that he has been a big fan of David Miller for the last 10 years and lauded his ability to stay calm under pressure. He added that he will be ready for any role the team asks him to play and he’s delighted to join Gujarat Titans. Speaking to broadcasters, he explained:

“I’ve been a big fan of him for the past 10 years. He’s the guy who comes in big games. He’s the guy who wins big games. To be playing alongside him I’m looking forward to a lot more. The way he’s calm under pressure and the way he’s played for SA and GT.

“I’ll be playing at No. 6 or 7 for sure. The way I look at it, I’m ready for anything. I’ve batted at No. 4 in tournaments in Chennai. The way Gujarat Titans have made their players comfortable, I’m very happy to go there.”

IPL 2024 Auction: Definitely want to chip in with the ball if given the opportunity – Shahrukh Khan

Shahrukh Khan also expressed his interest to bowl in the IPL 2024. He said that he wants to chip in with the ball if he is given the opportunity. He elaborated:

“We’ve got 4 Chennai boys and great to be a part of that squad because of the way they’ve played the last 2 years. 100% can bowl. Got my bowling going in the TNPL and that helps here to. Definitely want to chip in with the ball if given the opportunity.”

Shahrukh Khan has played 33 games in the IPL so far and has scored 426 runs at an average of 20.29 and a strike rate of 134.81. He’s likely to play the role of finisher in the upcoming season for GT.
