IPL 2024: BCCI Sets November 15 As Deadline To Submit List Of Retained Players: Reports

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has set November 15 as the deadline to submit the list of retained and released players ahead of the IPL 2024 auction.

The player auction for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is set to be held on December 19 in Dubai, according to ESPNcricinfo. The event will clash with the second ODI of the SA vs IND series in Gqeberha.

The upcoming player auction of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be a mini-auction and it will be a one-day event. A mini-auction was also held for the IPL 2023 and it saw some of the most expensive players sold in the history of the event.

Sam Curran was roped in by Punjab Kings (PBKS) for INR 18.5 crore, Cameron Green was bought by Mumbai Indians (MI) for INR 17.5 crore and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) spent INR 16.25 crore to acquire the services of Ben Stokes. Overall, 80 players were sold during the IPL 2023 auction with 29 of them being overseas.

IPL 2024: Teams To Have A Purese Of INR 100 Crore

According to the same report, all ten Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises will have a purse of INR 100 crore to spend at the IPL 2024 auction. There has been an increase of INR 5 crore in the purse as last year the teams had INR 95 crore to spend.

Currently, Punjab Kings have the biggest purse as they have INR 12.20 crore left while Mumbai Indians have the smallest as they were left with INR 0.05 crore after the IPL 2023 auction.

Talking about the remaining teams, Sunrisers Hyderabad have INR 6.55 crore, Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals have INR 4.45 crore each, Lucknow Super Giants have INR 3.55 crore, Rajasthan Royals have INR 3.35 crore, Royal Challengers Bangalore have INR 1.75 crore, Kolkata Knight Riders have INR 1.65 crore, and Chennai Super Kings have INR 1.5 crore.

In the upcoming auction big names like Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Travis Head, Alex Hales, and Chris Woakes are set to go under the hammer, and with the increment in the purse the teams will have an opportunity to build strong squads for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.
