IPL 2024 breaks all-time batting records; here's full list

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, which was the 17th edition of the league, will be remembered for a long because of the kind of things that were in the fray. The league saw some of the massive records getting shattered as it was batting mayhem.

The IPL 2024 was a season of exceptional batting performances. However, it didn't come from a single team as every franchise in the league made sure that they came up with something special and gave immense entertainment to the fans. It was more of a batter's season than bowlers, who literally looked clueless.

The impact player also didn't do any good to the bowlers. In a league, where in the previous seasons 200 was a winning total, this time, it was just a par score, which speaks a lot about what kind of season it was. It was terrible for bowlers because almost every bowler had an economy of over 10 and was taken for runs in almost every game.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 saw quite a few batting records getting shattered. One of the major records was the season recorded highest run rate of 9.56. Apart from this, the 17th edition of the league also saw the 200-run mark being crossed 41 times, which is the most in any season of the tournament.

IPL 2024 also saw the most number of sixes being hit. This year a total of 1260 maximums were hit. Apart from this, the 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League also saw most individual centuries. As many as 14 players in the tournament reached the landmark for their respective franchises.

If this was not enough, the IPL 2024 also saw the highest-ever total in the IPL. Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a gigantic total of 287 runs against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. During that game, another record was shattered as it saw the highest aggregate in the T20 Game. Both teams combined to score 549 runs.

If Sunrisers Hyderabad registered the highest-ever total in the IPL, Punjab Kings etched their name in the record book. PBKS completed the highest-ever chase in the history of the T20. They chased down 262 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Jay Shah rewards ground staff for their work in IPL 2024

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah came with a heart-winning gesture after the IPL 2024. He announced the huge prize money for the curators and ground staff members of 10 main venues. Apart from this BCCI also gave away prize money for venues that hosted only a couple of matches this season.

Taking to Twitter account, Jay Shah stated: "The unsung heroes of our successful T20 season are the incredible ground staff who worked tirelessly to provide brilliant pitches, even in difficult weather conditions. As a token of our appreciation, the groundsmen and curators at the 10 regular IPL venues will receive INR 25 lakhs each, and the same at the 3 additional venues will get INR 10 lakhs each. Thank you for your dedication and hard work! @IPL @BCCI."
