IPL 2024: Cameron Green Traded To RCB To Manage Hardik Pandya's Return At MI: Reports

According to the latest reports, Mumbai Indians (MI) are likely to trade the star Australia National Cricket Team all-rounder Cameron Green to the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction.
Green, who is regarded as the next big thing in Australian cricket, entered the IPL 2023 mini-auction with a base price of INR 2 crore. He was chased by the Mumbai Indians (MI) till the very end and the five-time champions managed to secure his services for a whopping 17.5 crore. He became the most expensive Australian and the second most expensive purchase in IPL auction history.
Cameron Green performed brilliantly in his debut season, especially with the bat. He looked dominant while batting and played some crucial knocks for Rohit Sharma and Co.
In 16 matches, Cameron Green smashed 452 runs at an average of 50.22 and a strike rate of 160.28, with the best score of 100*. Also, he hit one ton and 2 fifties in the competition. With the ball, he picked up 6 wickets at an average of 60.17, an economy of 9.50, and a strike rate of 38.00.
Cameron Green Likely To Be Traded To RCB
According to the reports in Cricbuzz and India Today, Hardik Pandya has returned to Mumbai Indians (MI) in a sensational all-cash trade. With Hardik Pandya’s exit, Shubman Gill is looked at as the front-runner to become the new captain of Gujarat Titans (GT).
After releasing and retaining players on the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 retention day, Mumbai Indians (MI) had a purse of INR 15.25 crore.
They shelled out a whopping INR 15 crore to bring back Hardik Pandya and they needed to free up some more cash to spend some at the upcoming IPL auction. So they are likely to engage in an all-cash trade with the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for Cameron Green, as per India Today. The addition of Green to RCB would be a massive boost to the side.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 player auction will be held on December 19 in Dubai. It will be a mini-auction and for the first time, the event will be held outside India.
