The preparations for IPL 2024 have started with the teams finalizing their retention lists. The IPL 2024 auction is set to take place on December 19 in Dubai. November 26 is the deadline for all IPL teams to release their list of retained players.

Chennai Super Kings had a dream season in the last edition, where they won the trophy to equal Mumbai Indians’ record of five IPL titles. MS Dhoni became the second captain after Rohit Sharma to clinch five IPL titles.

In the past, CSK won the titles in the 2010, 2011, 2018, 2021, and 2023 seasons. MS Dhoni has led the team from the debut edition in 2008. He is likely to be part of IPL 2024 too, as he has not announced his retirement from the league.

In IPL 2024, CSK is going to miss the services of two players. Ambati Rayudu has retired from IPL and hence, he will not be part of the upcoming season. England skipper Ben Stokes has made himself unavailable for India Premier League 2024. Hence, he is another player who will be absent from the team.
