The upcoming auction for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is set to be held in Dubai later this year. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially confirmed Dubai as the venue for the mini-auction for the upcoming season of the cash-rich league.

The IPL auction is scheduled to be held at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai on December 19. This marks the first instance of an IPL auction being held outside India, despite previous considerations to host it in Istanbul, Turkey, which was ultimately abandoned.

The BCCI has officially communicated the auction venue to all 10 franchises via email. With numerous top players available, this overseas auction is expected to see exciting bidding activity from the franchises. The trade window was already open for all the teams.

In a brief communication to the franchises on Friday, the BCCI said that the deadline for releasing the list of retained players has been extended from November 15 to November 26. The 10 franchises will have a salary cap of INR 100 crore for the upcoming auction.
