Gujarat Titans are all set for a fresh journey in IPL 2024 under their new skipper Shubman Gill. GT’s former captain Hardik Pandya has parted ways with the franchise to join his former team Mumbai Indians.

After playing in two seasons, GT has one title in their kitty. They won the trophy in the 2022 season. In the previous season, Gujarat finished as runners-up after losing the final to Chennai Super Kings.

After dropping Hardik Pandya, GT has the most funds in the IPL 2024 auction. Hence, they will be the most dominating franchise during the mini-auction, which takes place on December 19 in Dubai. Out of 90 crores, GT has Rs. 38.15 crore left for the IPL 2024 auction.

Gujarat Titans have retained 17 players in their squad ahead of the next season. Shubman Gill, David Miller, Kane Williamson, Matthew Wade, Mohammad Shami, Mohit Sharma, and Rashid Khan are some well-known players that the franchise has retained in the squad.

GT has parted ways with 8 players ahead of the auction. Some big names that GT released from the squad are Alzarri Joseph, Dasun Shanaka, Odean Smith, and Shivam Mavi. The Shubman Gill-led side can grab 8 more players during the auction. Since they have 6 overseas players, they can only pick 2 more foreign players.

After Hardik Pandya parted ways with the franchise, GT has named Shubman Gill as the new skipper of the side. Rashid Khan was the vice-captain of the team last season and might execute that role in the 2024 season too.

Gujarat Titans now have 17 players in their squad. Out of those, there are 6 overseas players. Hence, they can pick 8 more players during the auction. GT can only pick 2 more overseas players.

Since the IPL 2022 champions have spent Rs. 61.85 crore to retain 17 players, they have Rs. 38.15 crore left in the salary cap. They have the maximum funds available than all other teams.
