Gujarat Titans (GT) will aim for yet another successful season in IPL 2024. In the last two seasons, GT has showcased stand-out performances. They won the title in the 2022 edition and finished as runners-up in the 2023 season. However, Gujarat Titans have faced a shocking ouster of their skipper Hardik Pandya, who has left the squad to join his former franchise Mumbai Indians.

Pandya led the side effectively for two seasons, leading them to IPL victory in the first season itself. Now, Shubman Gill has been named as the new skipper for IPL 2024.

Ahead of the IPL 2024 auction, GT has released 8 players from their squad. Among the popular ones are Alzarri Joseph, Dasun Shanaka, and Odean Smith. They have also dropped pacer Yash Dayal, who became infamous for getting hit for five consecutive sixes in the last season.

Gujarat Titans have retained 17 players in their squad and stuck to their core members, who drove the team to impressive shows in the last two editions. Mohammad Shami, Shubman Gill, Rahul Tewatia, David Miller, and Kane Williamson are some of the key retained players for GT.

For the IPL 2024 auction, GT has 8 spots left to fill in. Out of these, there are 2 overseas players. With the ouster of Hardik Pandya, GT now has the highest funds available at Rs. 38.15 crore. Hence, they can grab a powerful replacement for Pandya with that amount.

GT Traded Players

Gujarat Titans has executed the most expensive and surprising trade in IPL history. Hardik Pandya has been traded to his former franchise Mumbai Indians. The all-rounder had wished for the transfer and GT has executed the trade for an all-cash deal.

GT Captain and Vice-captain For IPL 2024

Since Hardik Pandya left the GT squad ahead of IPL 2024, GT has named Shubman Gill as the new skipper for the team. Rashid Khan was the vice-captain of the team in the last season and he will don that role in IPL 2024 as well.
