Former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batter AB de Villiers talked about Daniel Vettori’s appointment as the head coach of the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He said that when he used to play under him he used to bring the best out of his players.
Sunrisers Hyderabad recently appointed Daniel Vettori as the new head coach for the next season of the IPL. The former New Zealand spinner will take over the responsibility from West Indies legend Brian Lara. He was with the team for one year and wasn’t retained after the team bagged the 10th position in IPL 2023.
Daniel Vettori has a fair amount of coaching experience and also served as a head coach of Royal Challengers Bangalore from 2014 to 2018. He had a decent outing with the team as under him RCB reached the playoffs in 2015 and the final in 2016.
AB de Villiers, who played under Daniel Vettori, hailed him as an incredible human being and a fantastic guy. While talking about his appointment in a video posted on his YouTube channel, he explained:
“I played under this guy, Daniel Vettori. I played with him, I played against him and I played under him – that’s quite interesting. Dan is going to the SunRisers Hyderabad as coach. He was the RCB coach a few years back when I was playing under him. What an incredible human being, fantastic guy.”
