IPL 2024: Lucknow Super Giants Trade Avesh Khan To Rajasthan Royals For Devdutt Padikkal

Lucknow Super Giants franchise has traded in Devdutt Padikkal from Rajasthan Royals. In return, they have traded out pacer Avesh Khan to Rajasthan Royals. Avesh Khan was picked by Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2022 auction for Rs. 10 crore.
He gave a marvelous performance for Delhi Capitals in the 2021 season, finishing as the second-highest wicket-taker. Devdutt Padikkal was picked by Rajasthan Royals for Rs. 7.75 crore during the IPL 2022 mega auction. He was earlier part of Royal Challengers Bangalore.

LSG Swap Avesh Khan With Devdutt Padikkal With Rajasthan Royals
Lucknow Super Giants has swapped Avesh Khan for Devdutt Padikkal with Rajasthan Royals as a direct transfer. The IPL 2024 auction is set to take place on December 19 in Dubai.
Ahead of the auction, November 26 is the deadline to prepare the retention lists and trade any player with mutual agreements. This is the second trade that has happened ahead of the IPL 2024 auction. LSG traded Romario Shepherd to Mumbai Indians earlier this month.

In IPL 2023, Avesh Khan played 9 matches for Lucknow Super Giants and picked 8 wickets at an average of 35.37. He was highly costly at his economy rate of 9.75. He sustained an injury and missed the final few games for the team. LSG reached the playoffs but failed to grab a place in the final.
Devdutt Padikkal played 11 games for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2023. He could not capitalize on his opportunities. He piled up 261 runs averaging 26.10 at a strike rate of 130+. He scored 2 half-centuries.
Earlier, Padikkal had fruitful seasons with Royal Challengers Bangalore. He slammed more than 400 runs in the 2020 and 2021 seasons and also won the Emerging Player Award in his debut season in 2020. Padikkal also holds the record of smacking a century in IPL.
