Mumbai Indians will aim to extend their record IPL trophies in IPL 2024. Currently, they are tied with Chennai Super Kings with the most number of five titles. Last season, Mumbai Indians gave a marvelous show.

They reached the Qualifier 2 round after crushing every other team. MI started slowly but gained pace as the tournament progressed. Their journey ended after they lost the Qualifier 2 match to Gujarat Titans.

Ahead of the IPL 2024 auction, the Rohit Sharma-led side has released 9 players from their squad. They have retained 15 players. Crucial players like Ishan Kishan, Jasprit Bumrah, Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav, and Ishan Kishan have been retained in the squad.

Notably, MI has brought back Hardik Pandya into their squad from Gujarat Titans. With the likes of Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, and Hardik Pandya, the team has regained their dominating strength which they possessed during their five titles from 2013 to 2020 seasons.

To grab Pandya, MI also had to trade Cameron Green to Royal Challengers Bangalore. Dropping players like Jhye Richardson, Jofra Archer, Riley Meredith, Sandeep Warrier, and Chris Jordan, it is clear that MI is looking to redevelop their pace attack.

Mumbai Indians have released 9 players from their squad, out of which, there are 6 overseas players and 3 domestic players.

Chris Jordan, Duan Jansen, Hrithik Shokeen, Jhye Richardson, Ramandeep Singh, Riley Meredith, Sandeep Warrier, Tristan Stubbs, Jofra Archer, Arshad Khan, Raghav Goyal.

MI Retained Players

The five-time IPL champions have retained 15 players in their squad ahead of the IPL 2024 auction.

MI Traded Players

MI has made two trades for the forthcoming season. Hardik Pandya has been picked from Gujarat Titans for an all-cash deal. MI also picked Romario Shepherd from Lucknow Super Giants.

MI Captain and Vice-captain For IPL 2024

Rohit Sharma will lead the team in IPL 2024. Hardik Pandya, who was the skipper of Gujarat Titans, might be nominated as the vice-captain for the 2024 season. However, there are also chances that Pandya might lead if Sharma gives up captaincy.
