Royal Challengers Bangalore is all set to participate in the IPL 2024 auction, which takes place on Tuesday, December 19. For the first time, the IPL 2024 auction will be held outside India. Royal Challengers Bangalore have a decent amount to bid during the auction.

The three-time runners-up have Rs. 23+ crore available in their salary cap for the IPL 2024 auction. They can grab 6 more players during the auction. RCB retained 17 players in their squad ahead of the auction. They picked two players from trades. RCB picked Mayank Dagar from Sunrisers Hyderabad and Cameron Green from Mumbai Indians.

Royal Challengers Bangalore retained some key players in their squad like Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, Dinesh Karthik, Mohammed Siraj, and Reece Topley. The 2016 runners-up also released 11 players from their squad. RCB parted ways with big names like Harshal Patel, Josh Hazlewood, Wanindu Hasaranga, and David Willey.

Notably, RCB has dropped many bowlers from their squad. Hence, they are likely to target bowlers during the IPL 2024 auction. Faf du Plessis became the captain of the team in the 2022 season. He led the team last season and will also don the skipper’s hat next season.

The Faf du Plessis & Boys failed to reach the playoffs last season by a small margin but gave a wonderful performance. During the last few editions, RCB has reached playoffs multiple times. However, they have not reached the final after the 2016 season, when they finished as runners-up for the third time in Indian Premier League.
