IPL 2024: Revealed - Who will qualify for playoffs if RCB vs CSK match gets washed away due to rain

Royal Challengers Bengaluru will be taking on defending champions Chennai Super Kings in their final league game of the ongoing IPL 2024. It will be a do-or-die game for the Bengaluru-based outfit.
CSK are currently at the third spot in the points table with 14 points from 13 games. On the other hand, RCB are at the fifth spot with 12 points from 13 games. In case, CSK win the upcoming game, they will finish the league stage with 16 points while RCB will be ending on 12.
If RCB win the game, they as well as CSK will finish on 14 points and will have to depend on other results for a place in the playoffs. While a win against CSK might not be enough for RCB to qualify for the playoffs, a defeat will surely knock them out of IPL 2024.
Qualification scenario if RCB vs CSK gets washed out:
RCB will have to get two points from their final league game in order to remain alive in the tournament. However, their hopes could be dashed by rain. The weather forecast for Bengaluru is not promising at all for RCB and there is a good chance that the upcoming game might get washed out.
The highly-anticipated match is scheduled to take place on May 18 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium and the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that Bengaluru is expected to see "spells of rains or thundershowers" this week.
The IMD has predicted a "partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers" for Bengaluru from May 14 to May 17. For May 18 and 19, the weather department forecasted a "partly cloudy sky with possibility of rain or thunderstorm" for the city.
RCB as well as CSK will be hoping that rain stays away and they get the chance to bolster their playoffs chances. However, there is a chance of rain playing spoilsport and if the game does not produce any result, CSK will finish on 15 points while RCB will end their league stage with 13.
With 13 points, RCB will be knocked out of IPL 2024 while CSK will have to depend on other results. They will need either Sunrisers Hyderabad or Lucknow Super Giants to not finish on more than 15 points. Both SRH and LSG have two games left and can finish on 18 and 16 points respectively if they win their remaining games.
