IPL 2025: Harry Brook and Delhi Capitals' signings brutally exposed amid IND vs ENG T20 series

England's rising star Harry Brook has miserably failed in the first three T20Is of the series against India. Brook, who is also the vice-captain of this team, has been unable to make any impact in the series so far.
Looking at his poor returns, former India cricketer Aakash Chopra has expressed concerns over his ability to play spin and is worried about Delhi Capitals, for whom Brook will be playing for in the upcoming season of Indian Premier League (IPL).
In the third T20I at Rajkot, Brook was bowled off the inside edge by the legspinner Ravi Bishnoi as he tried to play a sweep shot to a full ball which was way outside off stump. He got too close to the ball and got an under edge back on to the stumps.

Aakash Chopra speaks on Harry Brook's low-key returns
While speaking in a video on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra claimed that Harry Brook is not able to read spin which raises questions about his upcoming IPL season. He believes that the problems will be there for Delhi Capitals who spent a lot of money for Brook.
"Harry Brook is unable to understand spin. He is unable to see it at all. If you are not able to understand it now, you have to play the IPL as well," the former India opener noted.
"The Delhi Capitals guys are already flipping over, as to what they should do as they have kept him in their team and he is not able to play spin at all. Big name but no performance," he added.
Harry Brook was signed by Delhi Capitals for INR 6.25 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction. Before coming to Delhi Capitals, he has already represented Sunrisers Hyderabad for whom he wasn't able to make much of an impact.
Disappointing returns in first 3 T20Is
Harry Brook has been disappointing in this series so far with just 38 runs in three T20Is at an average of 12.66. In all the matches, he was dismissed by a spinner. In the first two matches, Varun Chakravarthy picked up his wicket while Ravi Bishnoi scalped him in the third match.
Despite his low-key returns, Brook is seen as the future of English cricket. The 25-year-old talented right-hander has the ability to score runs at a brisk pace and has a good record in international cricket.
He has scored 745 runs in 42 T20Is so far at an average of 28.65 and a strike rate of 144.37 with 3 half-centuries. Apart from the T20Is, he has also played 24 Tests and 20 ODIs and has shown signs of a successful career.
England register its first win
While Harry Brook failed to get a big score, England finally registered their first win of the tour by defeating India by 26 runs in Rajkot. England scored a competitive 171-9 while batting first thanks to a counter-attacking batting effort from Liam Livingstone in the end.
In reply, India were bowlled out for just 145-9 in 20 overs thanks to a combined bowling effort overall by the visitors. Varun Chakravarthy was chosen Player of the Match for his insane figures of 5-24 despite ending up on the losing side.
