RCB and PBKS Battle for Their First IPL Title in 2025 Finale

Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings are aiming for their maiden title. Both sides have not lifted the coveted trophy despite being part of 17 editions.

RCB have reached the final three times — in 2009, 2011, and 2016 — but fell short on each occasion. PBKS have reached the final only once, finishing runners-up in 2014 after losing to KKR.

RCB booked their place in the final by defeating PBKS in Qualifier 1, while PBKS bounced back with a win over Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 2. With both teams chasing a long-awaited title, the match promises high stakes and intense competition.

What Happens If Today’s RCB vs PBKS IPL 2025 Final Gets Washed Out?

If weather disrupts the IPL 2025 final on Tuesday, the following day will be reserved to complete the match, although officials will aim to finish it as scheduled. The final includes 120 minutes of extra time, with a minimum of five overs per side required for a valid result.

If the match remains undecided after the reserve day, a Super Over will determine the winner. If that’s also not possible, the team with the higher league standing will be declared champion.

Since Punjab Kings topped the points table due to a superior net run rate over Royal Challengers Bengaluru, PBKS would be awarded the IPL 2025 title in such a scenario.
